DoodleFlick FAQs
- So now that I've created a really good animation, what can I do with it?
You can publish it for anyone to see or, if it's personal, you can send it to your friends
How do I get the animation onto my website or show it on YouTube?
It's easy to create a QuickTime video or animated GIF. Instructions are here
- I have a Mac and would like to try the software. What next?
The Mac client software has been taken offline. A lightweight Mac reader may be released in the summer of 2011 (but what's in it for me?).
- It's not on the app store. How can I get it?
You can try out the beta if you get in touch with the DoodleFlick team (and you're not too late).
- If I get the Lite version, can I keep any work I've done
The Lite version lets you create animations with two keyframes, and I'm hoping that you'll be so excited by it that you'll get the full version immediately(!) But, yes there is a sneaky method that you can use to activate your Lite version and then send your Flicks to yourself. A bit tedious, I know, but it's no joke to share data between iOS apps. Full instructions are here.
- What's the difference between uploading and publishing?
Publishing means making the Flick available for anyone using DoodleFlick to see. You just need to switch on the Publish switch to do that. If you want to send it to someone then you can pick their email address from your contact list (the blue 'add' button) or enter it manually in the To: edit box. Uploading is a term for either publishing or emailing the Flick. You can do both at once if you switch on Publish _and_ choose an email address.
- Doodleflick is frozen. How do I restart it?
This is a general procedure that lets you close any app.
If you double-press the iPhone's home key you will get a list of running apps on the bottom of the screen (you may need to scroll from side to side). From there you can close the app by touching and holding the icon for a moment until a red spot with a minus sign appears next to it. Just tap on the red spot to stop close the app, then press the iPhone's home button once to clear the red spots, then press it again to go back to the main screen.
